Hello everybody,

This is my first message here, and I start with a question.

In my GTD system, I very often attach notes to tasks I'm working on. It is like attaching a post-it to my paper organizer, with additional notes about the ongoing work.

When using iGTD, I could use the dedicated note box; with NB, I guess I must add a new item nested to the one I am commenting. For example, say I'm working on a document called MyDoc, and there is an action in my Project page:

@Work
- MyDoc

When finished, I send the draft to my proofreader, waiting for his notes. Here is my task, now:

@Work
- MyDoc
--Sent to proofreader; waiting for feedback.

The disadvantage, compared to the iGTD way, is that I have one (or more) "wasted" lines in my To Do Index. The advantage is that I can see everything at a glance, without having to browse through the tasks.

is it the right way? The only way? Your comments (either nested or not...) would be much appreciated.

Still on this topic, I must add that another possible advantage of the NB way, is that - if the parent task has not yet been checked as complete - sub-tasks are not immediately removed when completed. This allows for the recent history of tasks to be considered. So, in the above case, I would have:

@Work
- MyDoc
-- √ (greyed out) [Sent to proofreader; waiting for feedback.]
-- Feedback received. Entering corrections.

As of now, it seems to work nice. I must still test it on very long lists of tasks.

Paolo

Hello Paolo,

In NoteBook 3.0 you will be able to attach "notes" to a page. For more information see here:

http://www.circusponies.com/notebook30.html

Nice feature, Eric. I just hope sticky notes can be attached not only to a page, but to a cell/task as well.

In the meantime, I'm starting to be accustomed to the described solution.

Paolo
