Sometimes I am tired of my present work and I want to relieve the stresses and strains from work, so I would like to ask is there any good idea or tips on making me more happier or feel relaxed? I oftern go to the dance hall to sing and dance or play sports on weekends, but that is not enough, always doing the same thing is boring. Recenty, I found on the internet that learning a new skill during spare time is a good idea, it can make us more intellectual and make more friends. Such as, military school and nursing school are I've come acrossed. If you find any interesting things or have the same feelings as me, please chat with me. Have a nice day!

I’m a Chinese studying in Spain and I think the first step before you can enter a foreign language school is to learn the foreign language well. And then you can apply for the bursary and the chance may be the most probably fall to you. I can also recommend you some sites, public schools and international student , you can know more about how to enroll a foreign school. Good luck for you all.

I am glad to join this forum and explore the ways of learning with my online friends together. I want to study abroad after graduation and continue to learn my major, business administration. I want to study in Spain. Can you introduce some universities in Spain or the related resources? Now I’ve learned through nursing school , career builder. I am using NB for ALL my record keeping. It will be my base for everything we do this year. It will be recorded in there. I am so excited- just saved her first weeks lessons plans to rtf then to pdf and emailed them to her for her to print in the morning. [my daughter- who is on a PC in the home classroom] I have it up on the web as well. So she can look ahead thru her link on her computer. This is so simple and has actually been so fun to put together. Can't wait to finish entering info. Here is a link to it on the web. I had it with a sidebar - but my daughter likes to see the tabs from the NB- so that's how it is! How fun!
All have a great year!!
Heres the link-
http://homepage.mac.com/noellemena/HSIsis6th/index.html
Noelle

Wow, I haven't been following the forum all summer and I tune in and Heya! I've been using Notebook for awhile now. Last year we integrated it loosly into our homeschool setup--but mainly as an information gatherer. I would go on the web and preview information we needed and clip it to the notebook for the kids to view later. I then would organize the info into a "story" with pictures, sound, expanded reading for the older kids, etc. A lot of work, but I didn't have to do it all at once--just surf and clip--usually just before school. I could then organize the information into a lesson based on something in the day.

I would love to hear how others are using Notebook in their homeschool routine. I really want to start expanding how we use it.

Oh how much fun I have had! Working with Notebook. I had gotten behind as I am also remodeling my house. But I have the general NB laid out and even her first week of lesson plans done inside! We start school August 8th. Jason actually has a copy of my Nb I sent through email. He was going to see why I having some challenges with adding to .mac account. If you want a copy of the NB at its 'state' right now- I can email to you. Maybe you can figure out some of the clitches.
Wow- with 472 replies to this forum on Homeschooling alone- you would think we could see more examples of how we are all using NB! I have mine just about ready for this year. I am LOVING it! Really for me it's the posting to the web I am still working on. But I am pretty much ready to go on the homefront. My daughter is a window user; all her lessons are in the nb- so easy to save the weeks as rtf and then I actually print as pdf and email to her on Monday. It looks so nice! She downloads and is on her way! I have everything in this Nb. for the year. I will post in a few days when some cliches are fixed. This is an awesome tool for Homeschoolers. I wish more would post!!
Here's to another great year of Homeschooling!
My 7th! Cheers!
Noelle

Hey Elizabeth~
I am going to be using NoteBook this year for homeschooling. This is my 7th year of homeschooling. I will have a sample ready of NoteBook to share in a couple of weeks for this next school year. I am VERY excited! I used iCal last year to post a class calendar with daily assignments attatched- and she downloaded each day. NoteBook allows for a much more 'fun' way of presenting and the organizing features are endless!! Look forward to sharing with you!
Noelle

Ken,

Small world. I have family in Williamson. My grandfather, Clayton Bissell, was a barber in Sodus and Williamson. My aunt now lives closer to Rochester, but lived on Richardson Rd. for years. The De May family still grows apples and cherries on the family farms there.

We live in Georgia, so represent the fruit that fell further from the tree. We homeschool our two high school students, and plan on using Notebook starting this summer. We haven't worked out the approach yet, but are looking forward to using it as an element of a "toolset" that will provide our student with the stuff that they need to explore our world and test ideas.

I'll check back here periodically to share "best practices" with the group.

Hi everyone,

I'm trying out NoteBook for 30 days, but I just sent this around our local homeschool newslist:

"NoteBook allows kids/parents to create notebooks for particular projects, themes, classes, etc., and either print them out, export to a word processor, or publish them on the web. Not only do notebooks contain text that you type or paste into them, but you can automatically copy text, images or web pages very easily from the Internet; and you can insert images, movies, audio, and other files from your hard drive; or do many other creative things. Searching is fast and flexible. Re-organizing, or adding new "tab dividers" is a breeze. Perfect for creating a story book, or a project, a year book or a portfolio -- the Mac version of anything you might think of doing with a physical three-ring binder. Other uses include organizing lesson plans, organizing research (for older students), creating a year book, printing out a copy of a child's work in a particular topic to enjoy as a physical notebook, or to give away to grandparents to show what's going on in school this year. :-)

I wish I would have heard about NoteBook sooner, but now I think we'll all find it useful this year. (CircusPonies offers a family pack discount for multiple copies.)"

We'll see if we end up using it for these things this year. I'd love to hear more from others who find NoteBook useful for homeschooling!

PEACE
Kerry

Well, I guess I'm answering my own question. We have been using CPNotebook and love it for school things (although my wife still likes real paper).

I find it's a great way to clip web research, photos, etc into one place. Before,we'd meander through a list of web links we'd previewed on a topic... now I can clip what I like from a site to NB, edit it and really present things in a much tighter way to the kids.

For example, my brother is in China now and just visited the Terra Cotta Army dig. I was able to put his descriptive e-mail, and the best sections (using the highlighter and editing) from about 6 web sites I visited, along with the best photos in media frames (just because I like how cool they look floating and tilted! I'm a photographer after all...)

Anyone else doing cool things? Maybe created a good IHIP template or weekly task checklist in Notebook?

cheers,
Ken

I just saw this forum and as I'm testing out CP Notebook for my business life, I'd love to hear how it could work for our HS life.

How do you guys use your notebook for school stuff?

I can imagine it makes a great 'portfolio' for student work. Also, I'd love to see how a parent uses it to track things... it could consolidate a bunch of my wife's lists and spreadsheets, etc.
We are Christian Homeschoolers in the Western NY area, btw, with 2 kids in elementary grades.

cheers,
Ken

HuthPhoto.com
Portfolio, Photoshop & Digital Photo tips
