iPhone app where art thou?

I don’t mean to duplicate what I started I searched here.

I just want this in the right place:

I would totally go wild for Evernote functionality for Notebook!

I use Notebook as a “master case docuent.” All notes, phone messages, etc go into a Notebook for each case.

With services like box.net, sugarsync, dropbox, I could put all of my cases online and accessible anywhere from my iPhone.

I would *love* to be able to access my notebook and add/change it on the go.

Being able to open a notebook on my iphone and be access information in it and add a phone message directly to a notebook online would be awesome.

Evernote, itself is nice, but there is no way I want to run a case from it. I want the organization ability of Notebook with the access/change in anywhere ability of Evernote.

If implementing a sync service is too difficult, how about a reader/writer for the iphone and let another service (box.net, sugarsync, dropbox) handle the sync.

I don’t like Evernote for a variety of reasons. I’d kill for this.

Where I live web access via iphone can be very patchy were I work its almost non existent. A method of getting notebooks on to my iphone would be a big big plus. The killer app for the iphone

Chuck: Do you mean the export to website feature?

The problem I have with that is would be read only.

Plus, I want to have all of my notebooks for all of my cases available. So I do not want to have to remember to export each one separately.

I might sound skeptical, but have been following this forum for the last 5-6 months, and I think there wont be an iphone app nor ipad app.

By following the forum.. I mean following the updates on the application in the form of announcements, updates, etc. NoteBook 3.0 released in September 2008, I am glad that there is consistent bug fix and I was very hopeful of iphone app & a web integration (automatic import and export) as well as further features research. Unfortunately, I dont feel that way anymore.

Please do not get me wrong, I LOVE NoteBook and probably it is this too much love that’s resulting in high expectation.

Am I the only one who feels this way? Am I mistaken in my conclusion ?

I must admit that my enthusiasm for a device like an iPad is directly linked to the availability of something like Notebook for it.

Notebook is great – but Laptops are not always the most convenient form factor when you want to quickly reference information that you have. If there was a poll on it I would definately vote for a iPad/phone version….

For people who (like me) only need a read-only version of their notebooks: exporting as a web site does not mean you must access them online. Just copy the web site files to your smartphone (or laptop), and you can access them without an internet connection.

+1 vote! Anymore, this is a must.

Evernote and Dropbox both have iOS apps, why not Notebook? I have found I don’t use Notebook as much as previously, because there is no iPhone app. Not having it would make me hesitant to buy future v4.0

I also eagerly await an iPhone version of Notebook, with Evernote-like syncing and would be willing to pay good money for it. There are some perfectly adequate iPhone outliners out there – Joutliner and CarbonFin are both fine for my purposes, which are mainly of a mobile to-do list nature. If they had a nice companion desktop app and mobile sync I’d be happy with either one, but they don’t. I don’t need a lot of fancy structures, attachment capabilities, styles, etc. (I do that stuff on my desktop in Notebook but don’t need it in the phone necessarily), just a barebones outliner with a simple, intuitive interface that shows as much info as possible on the little LCD.

I love Evernote’s transparent syncing, however it is hopeless as a mobile to-do list – you can’t reorder notes, navigating between categories takes way too many UI actions, and there’s so much screen clutter that you can only see like 4 items onscreen at once. CarbonFin’s non-iPhone interface is web-based and ugly – I want a nice desktop app like Notebook. Joutliner’s desktop app is a joke and syncing is via wired connection only. An iPad version of Notebook might be nice, but an iPhone app is MUCH more important – I always have my phone with me, and that’s not true of my iPad.

I wrote to Evernote about its shortcomings as a mobile to-do list and their response was “that’s not what it’s for – use Egretlist or ElegantNote” (or something like that). Both of the programs they suggested use Evernote syncing but are horribly cluttered and overly-complicated. Evernote could be made useful with just a few tweaks but they’re more interested in providing the cloud services than apps.

Well I bought Notebook but have only used it a couple of times. It really is out of date and a waste of time without some sort of sync with the iphone.

Just a suggestion: would it difficult to create some sort of NoteBook Viewer app for the iPhone that would at least allow users to go mobile with their NoteBooks?
