Hi Victoria,

In theory, assuming software developers follow the guidelines Apple wants them to follow, all applications in which you can make a selection (at least of text) should work with clipping automatically (and a good majority do).

Unfortunately, some applications are not the best OS X citizens in this respect and do not properly support OS X's Services and contextual menus. I have a feeling that FileMaker may fall into this category. The workaround is to select and copy what you want to clip, then Control-click the NoteBook icon in the Dock. From the Paste To... menu you can then choose the clipping service you want to use.

Another Q on this topic, then. I created a Notebook on a case on my MacPro. I had the mini [office server with client files digitized in folders on it] mounted on my desktop. I was able to open a page "Discovery" and create a subpage for Interrogatories then click and drag the Interrog. document into the page and it shows up as an attachment and a URL link by it's topic/heading, apparently back to the Server.

Well, when the server is not mounted it can't find the document of course.

And when I go to trial, what then? How do I make sure that all the documents in the Notebook can be referenced by the Notebook properly? usually what I would do is copy the whole client file to my harddrive, and the Notebook, but how does the Notebook see the new location of the various documents???
