Hi,

I usually record lessons with a recorder, instead of carrying a laptop with me. This means I’m leaving home one of the best features of NoteBook – the ability of recording speakers, and splitting their recording on the go.

Is there any chance this function could be also added to imported audio files? Put them to play, and split the audio file each time you create a new outline item. Shouldn’t be too difficult with uncompressed Aiff and Wave files.

I hope that a future version of Notebook will allow dragging in and notating recordings. Microsoft OneNote has long had this functionality and it is fantastic. Also, I think think the splitting of the audio file is unnecessary—OneNote simply places markers within the file so that when you click on your written notes you can listen to the specific section of audio that you notated.

One workaround is that you can use a mini (1/8 inch) cable from the output of your recorder to the input of your Mac, then change your audio input from mic to line in. Play back the recording while recording into Notebook and take notes in real time. It’s not ideal, but it will work.

Good luck!

I would also like to see the ability to add recordings and to add place markers in Notebook. For that matter, I would like to be able to add additional place markers to a voice annotation after it’s recorded with Notebook.
