Elizabeth, thanks for this link. As an older undergraduate at a state university, i have been increasingly frustrated with the current academic climate of disregard for the Western Tradition. I suspect (or know) that the professors i work with are sometimes just as frustrated, but change is difficult. Perhaps one day American universities will rediscover that they are not vocational schools and that there is merit in learning something for its own sake. Judy
