Hi,I’m a professor of Old Testament and Hebrew, and every semester I teach a course called Survey of the Old Testament. I teach at a Baptist University that requires Old and New Testament for all its students.I used to print up an unpublished textbook that I wrote for my students. But this summer, I converted that textbook into Notebook format and published it as a web document. Not only has this saved lots of trees (no printing required), and lots of money (the students don’t have to purchase anything), but now what was once a static, boring, black and white textbook has come alive. The book is in color, has active web links, I’ve created illustrations for it, and I can include all sorts of pictures. So now, the students have a document with which they can interact.Of course, this is my first attempt, so there’s lots of room for improvement, but I thought I would share it with the Notebook community as an idea others might like to incorporate. Here’s a link to the textbook on my .Mac site if you’re interested in looking at it:http://homepage.mac.com/suzyq2463/Overview/I’d welcome any suggestions you have for improving the book. Thanks,Susan

Susan,

I just joined, happened across your post and then took a look. What a terrific use of NB and, more importantly, what terrific substance. Great work!

pdm32

Susan, I took a look at your textbook and was really impressed. What a lot of work and a great resource for your students. I learnt a lot about how to use notebook too! Thanks

Susan – I’d be interested in taking a look at your textbook to see how you organized it and such, but the link doesn’t seem to be loading at all…perhaps it is outdated (I do seem to be visiting this site a little late). If you wouldn’t mind, I’d love to take a peek at your work!

Susan – I would also love to see this, as I am setting up a curriculum for nursing students and this would be great for them!
