Why so little mention of an iPhone app??

I found a couple threads, but nothing recent… With the advent of iPhone OS 3.x, can’t you (meaning the whiz-kids at CircusPonies) now create a fully functional app that syncs seamlessly with the desktop app?

What’s up with this? I found a review of notes apps that didn’t seem to find a clear winner:

We’ve received numerous requests for an iPhone/iPod Touch companion application so it’s on our radar. In general, however, we don’t comment about what kinds of future product plans we may or may not have for competitive and other reasons. We hope you’ll understand.

In the meantime, you can export your Notebooks as websites and view them on your iPhone or iPod Touch using the mobile Safari application. You can also store your Notebook websites on your phone using, for example, the “Air Sharing” iPhone/iPod Touch program, so that they are always available. Also, any action items that you sync to iCal will automatically appear in your iPhone/iPod Touch when you sync it.

I completely understand your need to keep plans close to the chest… Good to hear you’re at least thinking about it. I will look into the features you mentioned!

I’m getting my feet wet with both Notebook 3 and a new 64 gig iPod Touch so forgive my ignorance, please. After exporting the notebook to a web page, how do you get it onto the iPod Touch (or iPhone)? Thanks in advance.

So, am I to understand that the Notebook file I’ve already exported to a website should be simply copied to the iPod Touch via an app like “Air Sharing”? If so, what is the process whereby I view it in Safari? Are there other methods for moving the exported website to the iPod than with the app “air sharing”? Thanks.

If you exported it to a Web site (i.e. It’s posted on the Web), you can just browse to the appropriate URL with your browser. If you just exported it to a bunch of HTML pages on your computer, you’ll have to upload it to your iPhone to be able to read it. Eric recommended an app for this, and I like “Files Lite”.
