Possible Bug?

Possible Bug?

by Rebecca Tyler - 12:59AM, Sep 17, 2009

Hi I recently updated my notebook 3.0 to the newest version (362). I am now having a problem with dates. After I input the date of a to-do item and click out of the box, notebook automatically adds two days to the due date and changes the color of the item to “past due” color. If I were to click on the due date (in order to change the date) the due date automatically goes back to the original due date (two days earlier).

Has anyone else had a similar problem? I have tried reinstalling the application but the problem still persists. I have not changed any settings recently and my computer time is correct. I should note that I am running Mac OS X Version 10.5.8 and NOT Snow Leopard

I have this issue. The year is set to 0009 instead of 2009.

Are you using a non-US format for dates? This is set in the International module of System Preferences in Leopard and the Language & Text module of System Preferences in Snow Leopard.

Any other specifics to reproduce this would be helpful. A simple test on US and UK Snow Leopard and Leopard systems did not reveal the issue for me.

One other thought: are you using iCal syncing on this page?

As reported privately (via the official bug report system), I have exactly the same issue.
Going back to 9 AD would have been very useful for an exam I had a few weeks ago, concerning the age of Cesar Augustus.

Month and date are reversed which should be the same as the UK. My international settings are attached. I have iCal synching on this page.

As for more detail the clock works but after the date and time is selected it reverts to 0009 instead of 2009 and adds 2 days. In other words, when you click out of it, 27 Sep 2009 becomes 29 Sep 0009.

The error can then be corrected manually.

It is interesting to note that I live in Canada, but have just changed my “international settings” to a U.S. time clock – magically, it works like it should.

As a future fix, I would appreciate the date format for Canada to work if possible … we usually pronounce the day first, then the month so today would be 27-sep-09 or 27/09/09 .

Australia and Canada are Commonwealth countries so our dates are the same as the UK, that is, day first and month second as Rebecca points out..

I saw the same thing as Warwick, once only, when I tried to duplicate the problem (in an existing NoteBook).

But since that initial and momentary error fixed as per Warwick did by re-entering it I am unable to get it to repeat, either in the existing notebook or in a number of others created just to test for the bug.

FYI: we’ve been able to reproduce this problem here (thanks to the help of many of our customers!) and our software development team is working on a fix for the problem.

Any progress on this?
At present, I cannot get it to correct by re-entering. So feature does not work for me (in Australia).
It was working before. Older entries are OK but as soon as I enter a new item or alter a date it changes to 0009. OS 10.5.8

Downloaded 366, but problem still exists. Makes Notebook useless for majority of my needs.
Fix needed asap!

OK By deleting items and re-entering it seems fine. Hope it stays that way now!
