Editing HTML

I have three more days left to try out NOTEBOOK and I am very impressed with it for building my website. This will be my primary use, I think. Again, I am very pleased with NOTEBOOK for this purpose: exporting, uploading, etc was great.

What I want to do, though, is place a tracking code in one or more of the pages. This is using Google’s tracking service (unless anyone can suggest something better). I opened the page I wanted to add the code to in Safari and went to: View: View Source and I can see the source code but I can only select and copy from it and not add my tracking code to it. How can I do this? I am not versed at all in HTML.

I don't know what Google's tracking service is, could you explain what you would like to achive?

A tracking device is a bit of code that you place above the <body> at the end of each page. This ‘code’ keeps track of everyone that visits your web site. You access these data on Google‘s site after you create an account (http://www.google.com/analytics/)
I was eventually able to add the code string using a program called: DEVONthink. I just don’t want to purchase that program (I used a demo version)
I don’t know if the developer(s) monitors this forum, but it would be nice to be able to edit the HTML code within the program.
