Anyone have any luck with SFTP?

Hi, I just tried to use the SFTP option to upload my notebook to the web for the first time and don’t seem to have any luck. I keep getting an error saying there was a problem with the server, however I know it works because I’m able to connect using the sftp command line utility.Anyone else have any problems? Or does it work for anyone? I am using a non default port (2222), not sure if that’s the problem.Thanks!_Alan

This might be unrelated from my previous problem but I tried to export the entire notebook in HTML format to a folder on my drive, then I figure I could just SFTP it up manually, but the export appears to fail with the error in the screenshot below.

Is there a log that NB creates somewhere that would give anymore information?

You can check and see if there are any helpful NoteBook related messages on the console (/Application/Utilities/Console).

It looks like NB doesn't like to export attachments. I checked the log and all the errors were related to attachments that couldn't be exported:

Is it true that attachments can't be exported?

NB: I've intentionally **** on certain words in the log for security/privacy reasons.

I use SFTP regularly to upload my Notebook-generated web site to my university’s server, password and all. Maybe you should check your SFTP connection with another SFTP program like Fugu (http://rsug.itd.umich.edu/software/fugu/) to see if you are able to upload or download other files. (I also use Fugu to upload the final version of a page when I’m tweaking the code in the Notebook page to add Flash mp3 players.)
