NOTE: This post relates to the 2009 version – please don’t post a request for a copy here – I won’t know you want a copy as I no longer monitor this thread See _dayBook_2010 7th Edition – A (GTD) NoteBook Template Updated: 20100110-2303 [AEST]Hello Again Fellow Notebookers. I am pleased to announce the availability of the 2009 dayBook Template. Before I say anything else I wish to thank all those who have emailed me to thank me for the 2008 version and encourage me to continue to distribute it in 2009 by committing to make a ‘payment’ for it by donating time and or money towards the well being of our planet and its myriad life forms. ==================================== Distribution I have taken this action to make it easier on those whose ISP’s have created numerous problems by both blocking the initial send of the template (as an email enclosure) and all subsequent attempts to communicate. I do however ask that you keep the URL to yourself – one of the rewards I get from distributing the template is knowing with a reasonable amount of certainty exactly how many copies have been distributed. For 2008 it was exactly 600 successful transfers up until 2008.12.19 ==================================== What it (the dayBook) is! It is a NoteBook document set up as you would pretty much expect a ‘Day to a Page’ Diary. The NoteBook has 17 tabs [sections] pre-set. Notes+ TabContains various note sections such as
and a few others. Several of the above sections have starter tables on them to make their use a bit easier. 2009 Tab There are 12 ‘month’ tabs / sections with each containing the following pages (Jan 09 example):
Next Actions Tab Details on how I use these two ‘Next Action’ related items are included on the Intro page in the template. ==================================== How to get a copy pettri#ozemail.com.au [substitute @ for #] with ‘dayBook_2009 – A NoteBook Template’ as the subject. This is the fastest way, I check this account at least twice a day. OR Leave a message in this thread which I will get a copy of – PLEASE remember to include your email address, either directly in the request [preferable] or at least in your profile. IMPORTANT: No email address – no template. Sorry. NB: Although most emails are replied to with a few hours please allow 36 hours before you think you might have been missed as sometimes I have to (pretend) to work so I get paid each month. ==================================== Failed Sends a. Joe Mac above said on Jan. 3rd: “I love the way the New Actions entered into a day page automatically populate the Next Action page.” For some reason, that isn’t working for me – but it is a feature I am very interested in. I assumed that if I put a task in the “Next Actions” section at the top of a day page, and gave the item a due date, that it would automatically populate on to the Next Actions Page. Do you have any suggestions for what I might be doing wrong?

To rben, are you making each of your NA’s ‘Action Items’? After selecting the cell to make an Action Item select: Menu/Outline/Action Item/Add a Status Checkbox or more simply Select the Item and use the keyboard Shortcut: Ctrl-Cmd-A ---

Thank you. That is what I was doing wrong. Instead of making it an action item the way you described, I was just giving it a due date, thinking that would cause the item to be an action item.
