I am trying to post two law school templates, a general one and a 1L version. I can’t get the attachments to work. If anyone is interested reply and I’ll e-mail them to you. If I ever figure out the importing I would be glad to include my notes and outlines. Otherwise they are again available if you reply.

If you want to upload a Notebook to the forums, archive the file first before sending it (Control-click the Notebook in the Finder and choose “Compress” from the menu that appears). This creates a .zip format file.

This prevents issues with browsers and web servers that don’t understand that a Notebook file is actually a special folder recognized by the Finder as a single file. They get confused and think it’s a folder. Usually you cannot upload a folder via a web interface.

Hope this helps reduce some work for those posting Notebooks!

Hi all, I am attaching the example case brief that I referred to above. I am a big believer in briefing all of your cases, and Notebook makes it really easy to do. If you haven’t yet been taught how to brief a case, don’t worry; you will before long. You’ll also find your own way of doing it that you’re comfortable with, but I hope this example gives you some ideas.

For what it’s worth, I just wanted to throw up an example of using the Cornell system to brief. Brief the right side, in class hypos and your questions on the left. Words of wisdom from your prof. at the bottom. Hope it helps.

This forum seems to be getting a lot of new attention even though its 5 yrs or so old.

If anyone has good law school templates could they possibly post them on a new thread? (and let us know here)

I would be interested in a template to see how someone organized a whole class using notebook rather than just a case brief. (although those are helpful too!)

Here’s my law school template. I’m a part time 2L, and every semester I’ve refined it a bit for my learning/working style. Sometimes I modify it per class depending on if it’s a seminar class, lecture, etc. Feel free to modify with what works for you and what doesn’t.
