PDF Annotation: Lost features when typing into "shapes" and "Stickies"

Has anyone else had trouble with the loss of spell check, the ability to highlight, and more when typing into “shapes” and stickies”? I have been taking notes for classes that use PDFs. I am getting very irritated because I can’t spellcheck or highlight anything in those shapes and stickies. Is there a way to fix this – or is this just some problem with the program?!?

I would love to have an answer to this, too…I’m trying the demo version right now, and while I can highlight a PDF in Acrobat, I would love to be able to do this in Notebook so I can link specific pages.
