Indent first line of cells and/or ¶¶ ?by nosleepingdog - 04:42AM, Jul 04, 2009 |

I’d like to set a style so the first line of a cell’s text has a standard paragraph indentation. Not talking here about indenting one cell under another, but just say 3 spaces before each new ¶. Can’t use the old “hit Tab” workaround since that makes the cell into a Child of the one above it. Maybe this is just not possible on a Notes (outline) page. And as for a Writing page, can I set a style for every new writing page that has indented ¶¶s? |

As far as I can understand, NoteBook relies on Apple’s text management, whose styles are only character styles. So, there shouldn’t be a way of creating a paragraph style. If is is enough for you, you can show the ruler, and move the first line tab for automatic indentation. This work per page, and for all selected text if already entered. Paolo

When working with cells, you have a few options you can consider: 1. To insert a tab, press Option-Tab. 2. Paolo mentioned modifying the ruler. To take that a step further, you can use the commands in the Copy and Paste submenus of the Edit menu to copy and paste rulers and styles. This is all standard OS X text object stuff. 3. You can set a cell to Paragraph Mode (via the Outline menu) and then you can tab freely to you heart’s delight! ---
